Pride is a celebration of diversity and gender in all of its many forms. It’s an opportunity for the LGBTQ community, friends, family and supporters to gather together and be proud of being who we are. Being visible as a community means that equality and diversity can be promoted and homophobia and discrimination can be challenged by presence and a carnival atmosphere.

  1. I’m glad you got to attend Irina.
There were a lot of police in Newcastle and they were a part of the celebration. Of course they had to make sure the roads were clear and they have to police large events for security reasons. However they were fully involved, wearing rainbow flags as face paints, posing with people for photographs. I hope that becomes the norm where you are one day.

    1. It’s certainly better for police officers now than it used to be. Some real positive changes in the past 20 years. And thankyou. This is the series that I’ll keep as a permanent part of my portfolio. How’s you post Brexit project coming on?
